Data Platform Engineer (Kraków | Hybrid)
Overview
As a Data Platform Engineer, you will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of data platforms for our clients. Your main focus will be on preparing solutions that facilitate smooth and efficient implementations for new customers. Your work will have a tangible impact on shaping and developing The Scalable Way ‒ dyvenia’s new brand dedicated to building high-quality, scalable data platforms.
At dyvenia, we apply software engineering best practices to data platforms to ensure scalability, usability, and reliability. Our approach leverages a mix of modern open-source technologies, such as Prefect, dlt (data load tool), dbt, Iceberg, and more, along with our own Python connector library and various wrappers/automation solutions, which supports both batch and streaming workloads.
You will join our dynamic team of driven engineers working together to deliver exceptional user experience and business value.
What will you do at dyvenia?
Among other assignments, you will:
- Build and form the data platform;
- Create, monitor, and troubleshoot ELT and reverse ETL jobs to ingest and transform data from and to various systems using batch and stream processing;
- Drive and advocate for state-of-the-art methods of handling data, e.g. data lakehouse, stream processing, IaC, DevOps, and DataOps.

You will be working with the following technologies:
- Python, SQL;
- Prefect/Airflow, dlt (data load tool), dbt, FastAPI, Postgres;
- AWS, Azure, Google Cloud;
- Linux, bash, git;
- Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD on GitHub.
What your daily job will entail:
- 60% working on new functionality;
- 20% maintenance;
- 10% code reviews/mentoring;
- 10% meetings, training, and development.
You will be based at our office in Krakow in a hybrid format, working on a business-to-business (B2B) contract.
What we're looking for?
Proficiency in data engineering and a strong understanding of infrastructure concepts.
Need-to-have skills:
- Strong Python & Programming knowledge;
- Intermediate level of SQL knowledge;
- Solid understanding of clouds;
- Understanding of Docker;
- Experience with Linux;
- ETL experience;
- Good communication abilities, ensuring smooth collaboration within the team and with project managers;
- Collaboration skills and willingness to share knowledge and ideas.
Nice-to-have skills:
- Experience with setting up CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps or similar;
- Understanding of Kubernetes;
- Familiarity with DataOps and Automation practices.
